拖延症

  拖延症英语里不是金宝博官网“症”

  It's not an actual disorder, not pathological: 在英语里,其实“拖延症”不算一种真正的“病症”, 不是病理上的

  But if it is an actual disorder, you will often see the suffix: -phobia:如果真的是一种病症,英语里会常用到这个后缀:-phobia(恐惧症)

  There are many different kinds of phobias, some are clinically diagnosed: 有很多恐惧症,有些是被临床确诊的

  But many are more of a state of mind, such as procrastination: 但也有很多“症”,其实是一种精神状态,比如“拖延症”

拖延症英语怎么说?

  

  就是已经说过好多次的那个词:

Procrastinate: 拖延

  毕竟拖延不是好事,所以procrastinate不会用在建议类的句子里意大利代表团争分夺秒,勇夺冠军;只会用在陈述或制止的句子里:

Let's procrastinate on that. X

Do not procrastinate any longer. √

Stop procrastinating. √

He always procrastinates. √

  一个拖延症的人,我们可以说:

procrastinator: 拖延的人

  除了procrastinate, 拖延还有一个更口语的说法:

Put something off

  例句:

I want to learn English, but I've been putting it off: 我想学英语,但是拖呀拖,拖了好久

选择障碍症

  

  The Chinese word sounds fun: 这个中文说法还挺有意思的

  In English, we'd call this: 英语里,可以说

indecisive: 犹豫不决

on the fence:意思同上,但是更口语、更有趣,因为fence是篱笆的意思,on the fence顾名思义就是坐在篱笆上,忽左忽右、不能决定

waffling:这个词也比较口语,而且是特别地道的美语呢。这个词还有一个意思就是:waffle(华夫)

  具体怎么用?

  “On the fence”更多用在一些比较重要的事情上,表达你的观点:

  如果是点菜这种小事:

“I'm on the fence between the chicken and the fish", 这个说法很怪

"I can't decide between the chicken and the fish”更好

  “Waffling”意为优柔寡断的

  You are waffling again:你又在优柔寡断了

各种恐惧症:phobia

  接下来这一组恐惧症,都以-phobia结尾。Phobia的意思就是恐惧症。

acrophobia: 恐高症

  除了I'm acrophobic, 你也可以说I am experiencingvertigo: 我很晕!

  Vertigo describes the dizzy feelingyou get when you look down from high: vertigo就是从高处向下看,那种晕眩、紧张的感觉

  I've met many foreigners who experience vertigo when they go to tall buildings in Shanghai: 我在上海遇过好多外国人,一上摩天高楼就晕

aerophobia: 飞行恐惧症

  It means you are afraid of taking the airplane: 就是不敢坐飞机

  “Aero-”就是和飞行相关的

  Fear of flying: 怕坐飞机, 更口语的说法

  Airsick: 晕机

  Seasick: 晕船

  Carsick: 晕车

hydrophobia: 恐水症

  I'm slightly hydrophobic: 我稍微有点恐水症

  The ocean makes me very nervous: 看到大海就恐慌

  Hydro是希腊语水的意思,英语里很多跟水有关的词都包含这个前缀

claustrophobia: 密闭恐惧症

  The fear of small spaces or enclosed spaces: 对拥挤或者密闭空间的恐惧

  A lot of foreigners say riding the bus or subway in China makes themclaustrophobicbecause they're not used to such crowded spaces:

  很多外国人在中国坐公车、坐地铁会觉得有点密闭恐惧症, 因为意大利代表团争分夺秒,勇夺冠军他们没接触过那么多的人

agoraphobia: 公共空间恐惧症

  It's fear of pubic spaces, not an enclosed space: 是对公共空间的恐惧,不是刚才那个密闭空间

Phobia, Phobic

  如果要形容你有什么恐惧症,有两种表达方法:

I've got...phobia (名词)

  也可以说

I'm ...phobic (形容词)

  如果你觉得这些词太拗口,也可以用更口语的说法:

I am afraid of height.

I am afraid of flying.

I havea fear ofsth.

强迫症的Jenny居然忘了说“强迫症”

  

  Obsessive compulsive disorder: 强迫症

  简称OCD

I've got OCD: 我有强迫症

I'm slightly OCD: 我有一点强迫症

I'm really OCD: 我超级强迫症

密集恐惧症

  这个词千万不能配图,光想到已经头皮发麻了!

  Trypophobiais an tense fear of clusteredsmall holes and bumps: 密集恐惧症的意思

  It gives you goosebumpsall over your body: 让你浑身起鸡皮疙瘩》goose是鹅的意思,所以英语里说“鹅皮疙瘩”,

  说说这个词的构成:

  大家已经知道phobia形容恐惧症;Trypo则是拉丁语,意思是小洞洞

尴尬症

  

  英语里,这个概念并不用phobia表达;而是

  Awkward:尴尬 (说的时候可以配上图男演员James McAvoy的表情)

  Socially awkward: 社交场合容易尴尬

  可以说:

I'm socially awkward:我有尴尬症

Someone is socially awkward: 某人有尴尬症*社交场合

  你有什么恐惧症?Do you have any kind of phobia?

其它症也许身不由己

但是拖延症,绝对可以克服!

  如何拯救拖延症?

  子曰:春困秋乏夏打盹,冬天还想睡一会儿。时代在进步,科技在进步人能懒成什么样,谁也说不准。拖延症?懒癌晚期?快吃下小e给你的药丸!

  

  Does it take you forever to make a doctor’s appointment, clean out your garage, or do your taxes? Putting off something that needs to be done is called procrastination. We all do it sometimes. But if you constantly struggle to finish tasks, there may be a bigger problem at play. Once you figure out your reasons, you can work on making the most of your time.

  你是不是总是拖着不去预约医生、不打扫车库、不去交税?该做的事情却拖着不做,人们把这种行为叫做拖延症。我们都有拖延的时候,但如果你总是挣扎着无法完成任务的话,可能问题就大了。一旦找出原因,你就可以想办法好好利用时间。

Are You Stressed?

你压力大吗?

  When you’re facing something you don’t want to do, it can make you feel tense. Putting off that dreaded chore is a way to get some short-term relief. The downside is that you’ll still have to tackle your task in the future, which may make you feel guilty or angry -- and cause your stress to rise more.

  当你面临自己不想做的事情的时候,会觉得紧张。暂时不做那件可怕的事情,可以获得短时间的安慰,但问题是之后你还得解决这件事,而且会让你有负罪感或感到懊恼——这更加重了你的压力。

  Keep your mood in check with regular exercise, limit alcohol and caffeine, and get enough sleep. Talk to a friend or counselor about what’s on your mind, too.

  想要控制自己的情绪,可以经常锻炼、少喝酒、少喝咖啡,并保证充足睡眠。也可以跟朋友或咨询师聊一下你的想法。

Are You Tired?

  The amount of willpower you have changes every day and depends on many things, including whether you’ve had enough sleep. If you’ve had less than 6 hours, it’s harder for your brain to tune out distractions and focus long enough to finish what you need to do. To get a good night’s rest, keep the same bedtime and wake time. Don’t smoke, and steer clear of alcohol, caffeine, and heavy meals for a few hours before bed, since they can disrupt your Zzz's.

  你的意志力每天都再发生变化,会受到许多事情的影响,其中包括你是否获得了充足的睡眠。如果你的睡眠时间少于6个小时,大脑就很难排除干扰、长时间集中注意力来完成该做的事。为了晚上好好休息,最好固定入睡时间和起床时间。别抽烟,远离酒精、咖啡,临睡前的几个小时不要吃太多东西,因为这些事情都会干扰睡眠。

Could It Be Anxiety?

  This condition means your brain overreacts to negative emotions. You expect the worst, even when there’s nothing to fear. Some people with anxiety spend so much energy worrying about family, health, money, or work that they find it hard to carry out everyday tasks.

  焦虑意味着你的大脑对消极情感过度反应。即使没什么可担心的,但你还是会想到最坏的结果。有些焦虑的人花太多精力担心家庭、健康、金钱或工作,以至于很难完成每天的任务。

  To stop anxious feelings, take 10 slow, deep breaths, or replace a negative thought with a positive one. It’s also important to get enough rest, exercise regularly, and make sure you don’t skip meals. Keep a journal to help you learn what triggers your anxiety. Some people need medications or talk therapy to get the condition under control.

  想要摆脱焦虑的情感,慢慢做十次深呼吸,或者用更积极的态度思考事情。充足的休息和有规律的锻炼也非常重要,并要保证规律的三餐。记日记可以帮你了解焦虑的原因。有些人需要吃药或者谈话疗法才能控制焦虑的状况。

Could You Be Depressed?

  Depression alters your brain’s chemistry. You may have very little energy, even for hobbies and activities you love. It’s also common to feel helpless and self-critical, which can cause someone with the condition to “shut down.”

  抑郁症会改变脑部的化学物质。你可能会感到力不从心,即使是面对自己的爱好和以前喜欢参加的活动。通常会感到很无助并常常自我批评,这会使人进入“完全停滞”的状态。

  Call 911 if you’re thinking about hurting yourself or others. Even if not, talk to a counselor or therapist if you have any of these other symptoms. Your doctor is a good resource as well. Some people also find relief from their depression with antidepressant medicine.

  如果你的问题是这种老生常谈的拖延症,不妨把大的任务分解成容易完成的小任务。可以设置一些截止日期确保一切按计划行事。对于某些人而言,在取得进步之后奖励一下自己也很有用。

  When you catch yourself wasting time, forgive yourself rather than feeling ashamed or angry. You may be less likely to procrastinate again if you go easy on yourself.

  当你发现自己在浪费时间时,原谅自己,不要觉得羞愧或生气。如果对自己宽容一点,下次可能就不会再拖拖拉拉了。

如果猪队友一点觉悟都没有

直接告诉他时间都快用完了好吗!

Run out of time

这种情况请毫不犹豫地告诉他

「你得快点儿干了,我们快没时间了」

You have to work faster.

We're running out of time.

  

当然有直接气场两米的表达

也有笑里藏刀,功力爆炸的表达
